Installer training: the documented procedure on site, after the course.

Your course teaches the product. Lingo sends installers the written procedure over WhatsApp, Teams, web or email when they are on a job, from guides your team checks and publishes, and keeps the questions they ask for your trainers to read.

After the course

The procedure from your course, on site when it is needed.

The four UK door and gate automation manufacturers we looked at all run face-to-face courses. The Door & Hardware Federation says of its Level 2 Award in Industrial & Garage Door Safety that “a refresher course is required every 3 years”.

Lingo is for the time in between. An installer on site messages a WhatsApp number, says which product and version they have, and is sent the procedure as numbered steps from a guide your team has published. If they need a person, your team is one message away and replies in the same conversation.

Who does what.

Your trainers teach and certify. Lingo carries the written procedure to the job.

The record

What installers ask can inform the next course.

Each conversation is kept with the installer’s name and number, the product and the guide used. Your trainers can read what installers asked once they were back on site, set it beside your own course records and see which steps to spend longer on.

The overview groups questions by product and by topic, and shows how many were asked, how many a guide answered and how many went to your team.

A trainer points to the control panel of a roller shutter on a training rig while four installers stand round and watch.

Questions training managers ask

Can a guide be built from our course material?

Yes, where it is a document you can upload, such as the manual a course is built on. Lingo drafts guides from it, and your team checks each draft and can edit it, or write a guide from the start.

How does Lingo sit alongside certification and CPD?

Accreditation and CPD stay with you and the awarding body. Lingo gives the installers you have trained the documented procedure on site, and keeps each conversation with the product and the guide used.

Can we keep it to installers who have been on a course?

Yes. Access can be limited to phone numbers you approve, added one at a time or imported as a list. You can also leave the number open to every installer.
