Your commissioning procedure, in its documented order.

Lingo drafts guides from your commissioning chapter. Your team checks and publishes them, and installers work through them on WhatsApp, Teams, web or email as a sequence of questions and numbered steps.

Your written procedure, in front of the installer stage by stage.

Commissioning is already a documented, ordered task. A guide carries that order to the installer as a conversation on WhatsApp, Teams, web or email.

  • A heating engineer sets a wall-mounted controller beside new pipework, with his phone in his other hand.

    Heat pumps

The MCS installation standard, MIS 3005-I, says at 4.1.1 that a system “shall be commissioned according to a documented procedure”. A note adds that suitable checklists “can include those provided by the heat pump manufacturer”.

  • Two door engineers commission a sectional door. One presses the button on the control station while the other, holding a clipboard, watches the door.

    Industrial doors

The Door & Hardware Federation’s FAQ says a CE- or UKCA-marked door is still force tested on installation. Testing on site is a stage of the job with its own place in the order.

Your manual sets the order. Lingo drafts the guides from it, your team publishes them, and every installer who messages your number works from the guides your team published.

How a guide carries your procedure.

An engineer stands at a newly installed control panel with the commissioning checklist on a clipboard, reading his phone.
Each stage opens with a question, and the answer decides what the installer is sent next.
  1. 1

Your team sets what is published

Lingo drafts guides from your commissioning chapter. Your team checks each draft against the manual, edits it and publishes it, so installers are sent the procedure as your team approved it.

  2. 2

Each stage opens with a question

A guide asks which variant is fitted, then whether the stage before has been done. The answer decides what follows: the numbered steps for that stage, or the steps for the earlier stage still to be finished.

  3. 3

    The steps arrive numbered

Each stage’s steps come as a numbered list on WhatsApp, Teams, web or email, on the phone the installer already carries, at any hour.

  4. 4

A person can be asked for at any point

Your team is notified by email and replies in the same WhatsApp conversation, with the earlier messages visible.

Your team stays in control of the procedure.

  • What gets a guide

Your team decides which stages get a guide, how each question is worded and where a guide hands over to a person.

  • Who can use it

Access can be limited to phone numbers you approve, added one at a time or imported as a list.

  • What is kept

Each conversation is kept with the installer’s name and number, the product and the guide used.

Lingo works from what the installer tells it. Where your procedure calls for a test or a measurement, the guide says it is due at that point, and the installer carries it out and answers. A person on your team is always one message away.

Questions manufacturers ask about commissioning

How does a guide keep installers to our documented order?

A guide puts the stages in the order your manual gives and opens each one with a question, such as whether the stage before is complete. The installer’s answer decides what comes next: the numbered steps for that stage, or the steps for the earlier stage still to be finished.

What record is kept of a commissioning conversation?

Each conversation is kept with the installer’s name and number, the product and the guide used. Your team can read back which guide an installer was taken through and what they answered at each stage.

Our procedure differs between variants. Can one product cover that?

Yes. Guides ask which variant is fitted and branch on the answer. Your team checks each branch against the manual before it is published, and words the question so an installer can answer it from the product in front of them.
